Still Life
I paint still lifes for a change of pace between my other projects. I suspect that this is true for other artists. I think of Manet’s The Ham. It is also a good genre for the indoor winter months. With still life you can choose your objects, and arrange and light them as you please. I have done still life commissions, where the client provides elements reminiscent of some person or memory.
